In VRCFinder's tag aggregation, 902 VRChat items published on Booth in 2024 carry the "winter" tag. That's about 20% more than the 752 counted for 2023 under the same conditions, and from those I picked 45 and sorted them into seven categories for this archive. It isn't ordered by likes: the staples near the top share the shelf with pieces built around one sharp idea, so you can browse it for what to make, or wear, next winter.

At the top of the 45, with 17,615 likes, is winter loungewear that pairs a cable knit wrapping you up to the neck with white fur slippers. Let's start with the shape of winter 2024 in numbers.

Winter 2024, the Big Picture

First, a look in numbers at what those 902 winter items of 2024 were, set beside 2023. The 2023 figures count the items published in 2023 under the same conditions.

By garment type, knits lead at 318, followed by boots at 255, shorts at 164, coats at 150 and leg warmers at 147. Compared with 2023, knits rose from 269, shorts from 122 and leg warmers from 113. Thicken the top half with knits and coats, show the legs in short lengths, then warm the feet with leg warmers and boots: the items for building that kind of winter look line up together at the top of the garment types.

The keyword aggregation is led by PSD included at 234, followed by oversized at 108, check pattern at 83 and winter clothes at 81. The rises that catch the eye against 2023 are oversized, from 70 to 108, cable knit, from 30 to 53, and chibi avatar, from 25 to 52. Fur, on the other hand, fell from 65 to 46. It was a year with more pieces that bring out winter through chunky stitches and big silhouettes rather than fluffy pile. Knits and Loungewear — The Heart of Winter

The "knit" garment type counted 318, over a third of the 902. Sweaters came to 117 as well, so knits were the center of winter after all. Lining up the top of 2024, what stands out beyond the quality of the knitting itself are pieces that let you choose how to layer them, and even how long they are, within one outfit. And the very top of the 45 wasn't clothing for going out, but a knit for spending time indoors.

Fuzzy yarn and chunky stitches

Two pieces ALICE put out in February and November. The thickness of the knit and its fuzzy surface bring out a winter texture in a single layer.

EveningGlow / ALICE

An outfit built around an oversized cardigan styled like a wool-blend knit, worn slipping off the shoulders. ALICE, the creator behind the popular outfit "MorbidAngel", made this one, and it collected the second-most likes of the 45 picks.

Under a cardigan big enough that the sleeves hide the backs of your hands, it pairs a sleeveless shirt with a chain threaded through the collar with black shorts. On the feet, a knee-high on one leg only sits against a short sock on the other, finished with boots, so the two sides are deliberately different lengths. A chained leg belt and a hairpin built from an × and a bar are included too, so just throwing it on puts together a look for heading out into the city on a winter night.

An outfit built around an oversized sweater knitted in chunky mohair-blend yarn, with one shoulder wide open. The same ALICE published it in February 2024, and it comes as a set of three, with denim shorts and a beret with a belt ornament.

The chunky low-gauge stitches have a fuzzy surface, and the hem ends in a fringe that looks frayed. Tie strings with white bobbles hang from the sleeves, and the neckline is asymmetric, with a high-neck band left on one side only. The main trick is a menu inside VRChat for recombining the layers. You can take off the sweater to leave just the blouse and skirt, remove only the sweater's sleeves to make it a short-sleeved knit, or take off the frills at the collar and cuffs, choosing for the top and bottom separately and combining them. In a cold world you can bundle up in the sweater, then drop just the sleeves when you step into a warm room, all without swapping avatars.

The colors are five named after sweets and drinks — "Pudding," "Cocoa," "Milk Tea," "Choco Mint" and "Strawberry Milk" — plus purple, and in March 2025 loose socks and loafers were added free for those who had already bought it. A set pairing a chunky cable-knit off-shoulder sweater with a casquette in the same knit. ぬんぬん製作所, the creator behind the popular outfit "Classical Maid" with support for 282 avatars, made it.

Denim shorts, black thigh-high boots and sheer stockings are included, making it a set ぬんぬん製作所 recommends as everyday winter wear. The knit has shape keys around the waist that change its length, shortening it in three steps from waist length to above the navel to a short cut under the chest, so besides the included denim you can recombine it with long pants you already own. The boot color and the sheerness of the stockings can also be adjusted yourself in the material settings.

The breadth of support is another signature of this piece, reaching 87 avatars including Shinano, Manuka, Selestia, Shinra, Kikyo and Mafuyu. The winter loungewear-style set that collected the most likes of the 45 picks in this article. It combines a thick cable-knit turtleneck that wraps you up to the neck, a check mini skirt, long knit socks tied at the thigh with ribbons, and slippers trimmed with white fur. cherry neru, the creator behind the popular outfit "Lottie", is behind it.

The knit comes in two lengths and the skirt in check or plain, and just placing it in a room with a bed and a blanket makes a shot of a winter day off. Pull up the hood and two horns stand on your head, with spikes running from the hood's edge down your back to below the waist: a monster's look. Since the pajamas cover you from neck to ankle, shots of lounging around your room on a winter night, or striking a "rawr" pose with both hands up, come out just as they are. Coats and Outerwear — Even After They Come Off

The "coat" garment type counted 150, and "jacket" 87. The top coats are worked out not only in length and collar shape but down to whether you can choose to take them off after putting them on. In a winter spent moving between snowy worlds and warm interiors, that's what separated how usable they were.

Long coats

A coat that reaches around the knees, building a long, vertical winter look.

Velvet Grace / Délice Haute

An outfit pairing a long coat with a tailored collar and a belt with a high-neck sleeveless top and a pleated skirt with a heart buckle. Délice Haute published it in September 2024, and it collected the fourth-most likes of the 45 picks.

The coat is worn open, slipped slightly off the shoulders as if hanging on the arms. A beret, tights, platform lace-up boots and layered necklaces are all included, and even with the coat off, the high-neck top, tights and boots stand as a complete outfit, so you can wear it differently outside and indoors.

A winter outfit centered on a duffle coat with a big collar in place of a hood, down to a turtleneck, a check skirt, sheepskin boots, earmuffs, a muffler and a shoulder bag. ALICE published it in December 2024, and it collected the sixth-most likes of the 45 picks.

Duffle coats usually come with a hood, but ALICE replaced it with a striking big collar to keep the back hair from poking through the hood. The front of the coat opens and closes with a shape switch (blendshape): fasten every wooden toggle and, with the muffler and earmuffs, you're dressed for winter from head to toe; open the front and the turtleneck and check skirt inside come into view.

A winter cape coat: a double-breasted coat in tweed or check, a removable fur-trimmed cape, a big ribbon, mittens and fur-trimmed long boots. EXTENSION CLOTHING, the creator behind the popular outfit "Danzai Sailor", made it.

The cape and other pieces can be put on and taken off from a menu inside VRChat, so you can recombine the look on the spot: full gear with cape and mittens when you head out into a snowy town, just the coat with the cape off indoors, and on to wearing the coat like a dress. The fur uses an effect that makes the edges of the pile glow (fur rim light), and real care goes into the texture of the accessories, down to cable-knit tights, a chain bag and earrings with a heart and a fur pompom.

The jacket can be put on and taken off from VRChat's Action Menu. You can walk through a snowy world with the eared hood up and the tapes swaying, then take off just the jacket when you go inside and be down to the sweater, all without swapping avatars. The back has lacing down the center and a slit at the hem, so it's a piece with plenty to see from behind too.

An outfit with a padded-look jacket whose white fur collar reaches the shoulders, thrown on off the shoulders over a short-sleeved sailor uniform. This one is by SOLSTICE, and it collected the third-most likes of the 45 picks.

The jacket's sleeves carry arabesque-like embroidery and a diamond lattice pattern, and white braided cords tipped with tassels hang from the hem. Since it's worn open and hung on the arms, it looks like a coat tossed over a school uniform on the way home on a winter day. The fur collar and cords show well from behind too, and the sailor uniform's scarf has a metal ornament like a fleur-de-lis.

Under the coat are a cable-knit turtleneck and a check skirt, with a beret, bear-face thigh garters, leg warmers and platform boots included as well. A bear peeks out of the coat pocket, there's a bear backpack on the back and bears on the thighs too, so there's a bear wherever you look. Outside, you throw on the fur coat; in your room, you can take it off and be in the knit and backpack.

That winter styling comes together with the upper body alone, and since no bottoms are included, it goes straight onto pants, half pants or shorts you already own. An oversized down jacket that reaches the waist. 珍飯亭, who puts out male avatars built on a shared body, made it for the shop's own avatars.

It's outerwear you can throw straight over inner layers like the same shop's "Simple Clothes Set." It has a hood, a gathered drawstring at the waist holds in the puffiness, and the inside is lavender quilting. An October 2026 update added support for the new version (V4) of the shared body.

Winter Outing Looks, Built as Sets

Three pieces that put the outer layer and what's under it together as one set, to recombine and wear again and again. By taste, "casual" counted 323 and "street" 185, making it a year with a deep layer of everyday clothes for heading out into a winter town.

A winter outfit set for recombining and rewearing, built around a hooded quilted jacket with diamond stitching and a turtleneck knit dress. It comes from XOXO.

For going out on a snowy day, a long coat reaching down to the calves; indoors, coat off for the argyle sweater and white collar. One set covers a winter day's change of clothes. Among accessory types, "muffler" counted 53 (42 for 2023) and "knit cap" 45. Accessories that turn your clothes into a winter look with just one addition line up thickly at prices from free to about ¥800. On top of that, 2024 also brought pieces that give a muffler you simply wrap some movement or a trick.

Wrapping a muffler

Three mufflers you just wrap around your neck, worked out down to how they're wrapped, their colors and even your view.

Pitti Muffler / ALICE

A ribbed muffler with fringe, finished in the "Pitti wrap" shape, crossed in front of the neck with both ends hanging forward. It's a standalone accessory ALICE published in November 2024, with yarn imagined as cashmere.

The Pitti wrap is named after the visitors to the Italian fashion fair "Pitti Uomo" who wore their scarves this way, and that shape comes ready-made. There are 16 shape keys, letting you choose wrap variations that change the hanging length and where the ends sit, increase or decrease the volume, and even hide the tag, so you can build the neckline to suit your hairstyle and outfit. Just adding it over a coat or jacket turns your look into one for a winter outing.

There are seven colors, including white, red, pink, beige, gray and navy, at △6,657. It's positioned for Shinano, so on other avatars you adjust its position. ¥600.

Fuyujitaku Muffler (Winter-Ready Muffler) / #POTATOTO

A brushed-look muffler wrapped once around the neck and crossed in front, with fringe hanging from both ends. It is a piece by #POTATOTO.

Separate from the 32 colors of fabric — solid, gradient, tartan and more — a long-pile fur version comes in 13 kinds, so you can switch to a fluffy, wintry texture while keeping the same wrap. A May 2025 update added a setting that hides the muffler from your own view: in VR, the fabric at your neck doesn't block your vision, while others see it wrapped as usual. The lettering on the fabric tag at the end can be rewritten with the included guide too.

There are 25 shape keys for adjusting the shape to chest size and clothing. Polygons are 4,220, for ¥600.

1000 Follower Celebration Muffler / おこめのおいしいお店

A red tartan muffler with fringe, given away free to celebrate the shop reaching 1,000 followers. おこめのおいしいお店 made it as something to use in the cold season.

It wraps once around the neck with the ends hanging in front, and the hanging ends and fringe sway as you move. A PSD comes even with the free version, so you can repaint the check to match your clothes. The ¥300 support edition adds the seven tartan patterns used on it.

Support covers five avatars — Ramda, Rurune, Moe and the +Head body, plus Bokusei as the base — adjusted to look natural with the shoulders lowered. Free at aggregation time; the support edition is ¥300.

Earmuffs, and a knit cap with moving fins

Two winter accessories for the ears and head.

muffmuff❄︎snow / NookNook〈ﾇｰｸﾇｯｸ〉

A three-piece set of winter accessories: earmuffs, a muffler and snowflake earrings. It comes from NookNook〈ﾇｰｸﾇｯｸ〉.

The earmuffs' headband is the same fabric as the muffler, with fur only on the ear parts, so whether you add one or the other, or wear both and bury yourself up to the nose, the colors match. The earrings hang a snowflake. The parts can be used separately, so you can add just the earmuffs and earrings, or just the muffler.

The regular version has 11 variations, including beige check, deep-green tartan and white cable knit, and the support edition has 18, adding snowflake, cow and giraffe patterns. Support covers four avatars — Kipfel, Manuka, Lime and Shinano. ¥500 regular, ¥800 support edition.

Mendako Knit Cap (Flapjack Octopus Knit Cap) / めんだこランデブー

A knit cap modeled on the deep-sea mendako (flapjack octopus), with fins on top at both sides of the head. めんだこランデブー made it.

The fins have sway physics, so when you're patted or step down from a ledge, the fins on both ends flutter softly, and there's a round badge on the side and a fabric tag on the front. The dedicated models for Kipfel and Mamehinata go on just by placing them, and a generic model fits other avatars too, so a small avatar in a finned cap warming its hands on a snowy night makes a winter shot all on its own.

There are seven colors — green, red, white, blue, navy, purple and orange — and PSD and UV files are included so you can repaint it. ¥400.

A moving muffler, a neck warmer you can pinch

Hebi no Muffler (Snake Muffler) / アトリエミオリ

A muffler that is itself a snake, wrapped around the neck and resting on the shoulders. It is a piece by アトリエミオリ, with over 15 patterns copied from the markings of real snakes.

The snake around your neck slowly moves its body in time with its breathing and flicks its tongue now and then. When your avatar turns its face, the snake's head follows, and if you make a finger gun with your left hand, it stretches out its head, opens its mouth and moves as if to bite that hand. More a partner that walks with you than a muffler, it starts a conversation just by being shown to friends.

Patterns include carpet python, ball python, corn snake and green python, and the solid white snake can be changed to any color you like. The head shape can be chosen from three types too. ¥800.

Agesage Neck Warmer (Up-and-Down Neck Warmer) / いきどまり-dead end-

A large fur-look neck warmer covering you from under the nose to the neck. It is a piece by いきどまり-dead end-.

The neck warmer has sway physics (PhysBone), so you can pinch it with your fingers, slide it down and leave it at any position. The pinchable area is wide, making it easy to pull down even when you're fumbling in VR. On cold days, keep it up over your mouth, and when someone talks to you, pull it down with your fingers to show your face: that gesture comes straight out of the item.

How it sits against the nose and mouth can be adjusted with five shape keys, and you put it on just by adding the Prefab to your avatar. ¥600.

Snow and Ice — Snowflakes, Snow Spirits and Ice Magic

The "particle" feature counted 51, nearly triple the 18 of 2023, and the keyword "snowflake" also has 24. In winter 2024, rather than just setting snow in the background, pieces that make snow fall above your head, at your fingertips and around you lined up.

Snowflakes above the head

Two halos floating above the head, made from snowflakes.

FrostCrystalHalo / ARCA-WORKS

A set of a glassy halo of layered snowflakes formed into a flat ring, plus a snowflake hair ornament, given away free by ARCA-WORKS.

The halo slowly spins above your head while letting fine crystal grains drift down. It sways along with your head's movements, so just standing in a snowy world makes it look as if snow is dancing down from above your head. The crystal parts use a free shader for a warped-glass look (CrystalShader), and the frame comes in two kinds, silver and gold.

It's already set up for Modular Avatar, so it works just by placing it directly under your avatar. Free at aggregation time.

Snowflake Growth Halo / samimaroのおみせ

A halo where a small hexagonal ring above your head slowly extends branches and grows into a big snowflake. It comes from samimaroのおみせ.

Once it's fully grown, grab the crystal and pull, or press a menu button, and it crumbles into grains of light and grows again from a small ring. You can show off the crystal growing above your head, then shatter it for fun once it's fully grown, and the growth speed can be changed from the menu too.

There are two shapes: a regular version suited to realistic proportions, and a simple shape with thick lines. The regular version is △9,120 and the simple shape △720. ¥300.

Snow at your fingertips and around you

Two pieces that make snow fall on your nails and around you.

WeatherNail / An-Labo.Virtual

Weather-themed nail tips painted with the colors and clouds of the morning, noon, evening and night sky, with versions that make snow or rain fall too. It is a piece by An-Labo.Virtual.

Put on a version with "-snow" in its name and snow falls over nails in the color of the night sky, so when you photograph your hands in a snowy world, a little snowscape appears in your nails as well. There are four nail shapes — natural, oval, point and square — plus foot nails, and since they're matched to the shape of the generic nail tips "MDollnail," this product works on its own.

Set-up data for many avatars is collected in a dedicated nail tool, making it easy to put them on avatars you own. ¥500.

Yuki wo Furasu Effect (Snowfall Effect) / okamoto-effect

A particle effect that follows the object you place it on and keeps snow falling around it, given away free by okamoto-effect.

Import it and put it in the object you want it to follow, and that's all. Put it on your avatar's head or shoulders and snow keeps falling just around you even in worlds without snow, so you can take winter photos anywhere. You're allowed to edit the effect's shape, colors, transparency and glow yourself, so you can make snow that matches your avatar's colors. Free at aggregation time.

Snow spirits and the yuki-onna

Two outfits for wearing snow itself as a role.

Yuki no Seirei (Snow Spirit) / Demicrown

A "snow spirit" outfit: a mini dress layered with fur trim, ribbons and gold edging, a long front-open overskirt, bell-shaped false sleeves, a halo and wings at the waist. Demicrown is behind it.

Fur runs around the chest, the skirt hem, the arms and the ankles, a halo with eight rays sits above the head, and white wings attach at the waist, with their position and angle adjustable by moving bones. The fur lets you choose a material with or without pile, so you can play up the fluffy wintry feel or keep it clean.

There are four colors — white, black, blue and pink — and choosing black swings it toward a cold air that stands out on a snowy night. Support covers 10 avatars including Shinano, Kikyo, Lime, Airi, Selestia and Shinra. ¥1,900 single, ¥4,000 full pack.

Yuki Onna / Luca

A Japanese-style outfit modeled on the yuki-onna (the snow woman of Japanese folklore): a long white kimono slipping off the shoulders, fastened with a big ribbon obi. It is an outfit by Luca.

Pair the kimono's faded, brushed-ink pattern with the big red ribbon obi and stand it in a snowy forest, and the cold presence of the folktale yuki-onna comes through. A snowflake pin for the bangs is part of this outfit too. Choose the plain white kimono with a navy obi, and the pure white settles quietly into a snowy night.

There are four combinations of a plain white or faded-pattern kimono with a navy, red or blue obi. Support covers five avatars — Moe, Selestia, Manuka, Airi and Shinano — at △98,192. ¥800 single, ¥1,500 full set.

Ice magic

One piece that adds an ice-shooting trick to photos in the snowy season.

Itetsuku Koori no Mahou (Freezing Ice Magic) / CooGee (こーじぃ)

A set of two ice-magic effects used with hand signs: open your hand to fire icicles, and put both hands together to thrust icicles up from the ground. It is a piece by CooGee (こーじぃ).

With the flying icicles, teardrop-shaped shards of ice fly in the direction your palm opens, and where they hit, ice crystals shatter like flowers. The ground-crawling icicles send a row of icicles thrusting forward from your feet, with a big mountain of ice rising at the end. They come with sound effects and sync so others see them too, so you can put the moment of casting ice magic into photos and videos with friends in a snowy world.

It supports Modular Avatar, so it works just by putting the prefab directly under your avatar. The screen-shake effect is off by default, and only those who want it need to turn it on. ¥600.

Winter for Small Avatars

The keyword "chibi avatar" counted 52, just over double the 25 of 2023. In winter 2024, full sets from head to toe came out for small avatars like Kipfel and Mamehinata.

Animal winter clothes

Three pieces that turn small avatars into winter animals with hoods and mufflers.

Animaru Winter (Animal Winter) / もち山金魚

A fluffy animal winter outfit: a "hooded muffler" that joins a hood with an animal face and ears to a muffler, a thick sweater, paw-pad gloves and fur boots. もち山金魚, the maker of Kipfel and Mamehinata, published it in January 2024.

Pull the animal-face hood over your head and bury your mouth in the muffler, and you become a round little winter animal. The hood's face can take 12 different expressions, and a strap skirt with a paw-pad pattern on the chest and pochettes shaped like a duck, a fish or a moon are included too. A December 2024 update added six sweater colors and four pochette colors, bringing it to nine sweater colors and seven pochette colors.

Support covers 11 avatars: seven by もち山金魚, including Kipfel, Mamehinata, Usasaki and Rue, plus three by Afro-da-afro and Noix, with Kipfel added in August 2024. You buy by avatar maker, at ¥3,500 for the full set of 11 or ¥2,500 for the set of もち山金魚's seven.

Fuwafuwa Kuma (Fluffy Bear) / BATSHOP

A hooded coat with a bear-eared fur hood, toggle buttons and bear-face pockets, paired with striped socks and fluffy bear-face slippers. It's the first item BATSHOP ever listed in the shop.

Pull up the bear-eared fur hood and your face is framed in fluffy fur. The pockets are gingham check, the hem has lace, and on the feet are bear-face slippers with ribbons. There are four pale colors with white fur and four with black fur, so you can lean it toward sweet or darker tones.

There are eight colors, with support for two avatars, Mamehinata and Kipfel. ¥1,000.

Rabbit Muffler / Rimeo Shop

A thick fur muffler you bury your mouth in, made for Kipfel. It's by Rimeo Shop.

Thick fur circles the neck, with ends topped by round puffs hanging in front. Little Kipfel's face peeks out of the fluff for a wintry look, and since you put it on just by placing the prefab inside your avatar, it's an accessory to add to winter clothes you already have. ¥350.

Matching outerwear and loungewear

Three pieces that give small avatars a full set of outerwear or loungewear.

Fuwafuwa Mods Coat (Fluffy Mods Coat) / はまのしす -hamanosis-

A full Kipfel outfit: a cap with earflaps and pompom strings, a fur-collared mods coat, a diamond-pattern knit, shorts, socks and boots. はまのしす -hamanosis- published it in November 2024.

Pompoms sway at the ends of the cap's strings, and with a diamond-pattern knit layered under the fur-collared coat, a full outfit for going out on a snowy day comes together. The cap is fitted to a forehead-baring hairstyle, but six shape keys provide shapes matched to Kipfel's original hairstyle and to はまのしす's own hairstyles, so you can keep the cap on even if you change your hair. The collar fur comes two ways: with standing pile, or a clean version without fur.

There are five combinations: red, mustard, beige, green and navy. It supports Kipfel, and other Mamefriends can wear it too if you adjust the cap. ¥1,300 (support edition ¥1,500).

Muffler Hair & Pokapoka Hanten (Muffler Hair and Toasty Hanten) / はまのしす -hamanosis-

A set for Kipfel: a hairstyle joined to a big muffler at the neck, and hanten loungewear (a padded Japanese house jacket) with a choice of pattern and color. The same はまのしす published it in December 2024.

Since the muffler and hair are connected as one, just putting it on gives a winter look with the hair tucked neatly into the muffler. The bangs can combine with Kipfel's originals, and the ornament on the topknot comes two ways, a cat or a pompom. The hanten freely combines four patterns — small crosses, stripes, lattice and arrow feathers — with four colors, and the picture on the T-shirt's chest can be swapped for any image you like.

It's a full outfit that includes a T-shirt, shorts and pompom socks. ¥1,300 (support edition ¥1,500).

Forest Snow / アトリエ＊ぼなぺてぃ

A winter clothing set: a loose coat with fur around the hood and collar, layered over two kinds of sweaters. It comes from アトリエ＊ぼなぺてぃ.

The menu takes the whole outfit and the coat on and off separately, so you can throw on the fur coat in a snowy world, then remove just the coat when you're back in your room and be in a sweater. The coat's sleeve size can be changed from the menu too, all the way to sleeves big enough to hide your hands, and the Kipfel sweater can also be worn as a vest.

Support covers four avatars: Mamehinata and Kipfel, plus Nemesis and Chako. ¥1,000 single, ¥1,400 full set; at aggregation time a sale had them at ¥700 and ¥1,000.

Hair, Worlds and Gimmicks — Setting the Winter Scene

Last are five pieces that create winter outside of clothes. Hairstyles, furniture to place in a world, a world itself, and even a gimmick that moves with your avatar's height: these handle the stage and the finishing touches of winter photos.

Hair done up for winter

Two pieces that bring winter out through the hairstyle, with a muffler or plum-blossom ornaments.

Wolf Mafu (Muffler Wolf Cut) / はまのしす -hamanosis-

A longer wolf cut shaped around a muffler, with a gimmick that puffs breath particles from your mouth when you talk. はまのしす -hamanosis-, known for the breath-particle hairstyle "Mafuron", made it.

The breath particles are linked to lip sync (the system that moves your mouth with your voice as you talk into the mic), so when you talk with your mouth buried in the muffler, breath comes out of your mouth. From the menu you can lower how often it appears, from once a second to once every two seconds, or stop it entirely; changing the frequency and turning it on and off are new additions over the breath particles of "Mafuron" and others. A wolf cut without the muffler is included too, so you can keep using it after winter ends.

The bangs change five ways — long, short, straight, side-swept and eye-covering — and the hair comes in eight colors. Support covers 12 avatars including Shinano, Airi, Rurune, Manuka, Shinra and Eku, with Eku and Milltina added in November 2025. ¥1,000 single (support edition ¥1,200).

Fuyuume Himesama (Winter Plum Princess) / Melling

A hairstyle with red plum-blossom ornaments and thin ribbons, in two types: long and worn down, or a ponytail. It is a piece by Melling.

The long version's back hair has plum-blossom ornaments and a red ribbon, while the ponytail is set to run the lock over the shoulder along the right shoulder. Down or tied, the same hairstyle switches between a look leaning toward Japanese dress and a cleaner one. Another feature is its nine colors, including white, light blue and lavender, which are easy to match to snowy-scene photos.

It's a hair-only product, supporting eight avatars — Sio, Manuka, Moe, Shinra, Kikyo, Lasyusha, Shinano and Airi. ¥800.

Winter rooms and worlds

Two pieces, furniture and a world, that set the stage for winter gatherings.

VARAYA Wood Stove / VARAYA OnlineShop

A wood-burning stove to place in a world, with a black body and a chimney. It is a remake of an earlier product by VARAYA OnlineShop.

It has flame particles of firewood burning behind the firebox window, plus sound effects, and you set it up just by placing the prefab. Put it in a winter log-cabin-style home or a mountain-hut world, and you instantly have a fireside corner where everyone gathers.

¥350, or ¥500 for the support edition.

Niwatsuki Kominka (Old House with a Garden) / モサンゴ屋

World data for a single-story traditional Japanese house (kominka), with a living room with a tokonoma alcove, a tatami room with a TV, a study and a bedroom, plus a garden with a big cherry tree and stone lanterns. It is a world by モサンゴ屋.

The same house and garden can be chosen from four prefabs: day, night, winter day and winter night. In the winter versions snow piles on the roof and garden and the cherry tree is down to bare branches, so you can switch to a tatami-room world where you look out at the snowy garden from the engawa veranda. Opening and closing the fusuma, shoji and sliding doors shows the same state to others, a brush-pen model for QvPen is included, and a snowman or a kotatsu can be added from separately distributed free assets.

It comes set up with furniture, and you're free to modify it. ¥850.

Into the snow globe

A gimmick that comes alive when you make your avatar small.

Scale Dome / LABO405の出来合い置き場

A gimmick where shrinking your avatar's height makes a tiny scene and a glass dome appear at your feet, so you look like a figure inside a snow globe. LABO405の出来合い置き場 published it in January 2024 as a winter version.

Set your avatar's height (Avatar Height) below 0.5m from the VRChat menu, and a dome appears around you with a snow-covered brick house, snow-capped conifers and a snowman, with snowflakes dancing inside. The dome's size doesn't depend on the avatar's size, so it's the same for tall and short avatars alike, and you can pick up the snowman and hold it in your arms. Just shrinking down at a winter gathering lets you take a commemorative photo inside a snow globe.

After the winter version, spring, summer and autumn versions were added too. ¥1,000 for the winter version alone, ¥1,500 for the autumn/winter pack, ¥2,000 for the full set of all four.

Winter 2024 from a Creator's Angle

That's 45 picks. To close, here are the numbers worth having when you think about what to make next winter, set against 2023 (counted under the same conditions).

By price, ¥1,000–1,999 holds 442, almost half the total. ¥500–999 follows at 169, and 51 can be had for ¥0. The median is ¥1,300, down slightly from ¥1,400 in 2023.

By taste, casual leads at 323, followed by girly at 211, street at 185 and cool at 161. Compared with 2023, girly rose from 169 to 211, and natural went from 57 to 91.

Wrapping Up

If I had to sum up winter 2024 in a phrase, it would be "a winter that moves between outside and inside". The top of the 45 was a loungewear knit that comes with fur slippers, and many of the top coats and jackets could be taken off inside VRChat. In a snowy world you bundle up in a cape or coat; step into a warm room, and one menu takes it off and puts you back in a knit. The muffler vanishes from your own view, the neck warmer pulls down with your fingers, and when you talk, breath puffs from your mouth. Winter looks were made to work across cold places and warm ones, and across the moments spent talking with people.

What stayed with me beyond that was how the creators took on the wearer's small troubles ahead of time. Snowdrop swaps the hood for a big collar so the back hair doesn't poke through it; the Fuyujitaku Muffler, the year after it was published, added a setting that hides it from your own view so the fabric at your neck doesn't block your vision in VR; and Wolf Mafu added frequency and on/off controls to the breath particles carried over from the earlier work. That accumulation of care, aimed at making cold-season VRChat even a little more comfortable, is what shaped winter 2024.
